Ion Sapdaru was a Romanian theater and film actor and director. He was born on August 4, 1961 in Dorotcaia , Moldova. He graduated from the Chisinau Theater Faculty in 1983 and the VGIK Film Faculty from Moscow in 1989. In 2002, he played his first role in the movie Pe aripile vinului.
